Leaving it out and about so they can get used to it works wonders when it's finally vet time. Only when they're young though. Our old cats know what's up.

Yep, if the crate is only used for the vet, then the cat is gonna recognize that the crate means going to a place they don't like. When I had my Willow I always left the crate around and open, made getting ready to the vet when I needed easy peasy.

tho the sweet boy was fine even at the vet, super friendly. I did not deserve him.
