Funnily, I don't see that trope much anymore
- Eric is found dead leading everyone to believe Xavier killed him.
- So they tie up Xavier until they can figure out what to do with him.
- The next morning Xavier is found with head smashed in.
- Audience is led to believe only Brock has the strength to smash his head in.
- Brock jumps off a cliff. Turns out he was being manipulated by Mary the Betrayer the whole time.
