i spent a 100 days building up my elo up to 600 (which is low), to end up loosing it all in like 3-4 days

Mid-game in chess is where creative thinking and employing tactics to carry out a strategy comes into play, openings and end game are the rote recognition parts.

All games could be simplified down to pattern recognition at the high level so I don't think that's really a fair critique.
