A healthy work environment is welcoming to a new employee, happy and eager to see that the collective enterprise everyone is involved in is growing and changing, still persisting, like a living thing.

An unhealthy work environment fundamentally views work as toil, pain and suffering, where a new employee is a foolish outsider to their particular trauma based clique because the noobie has not yet sufficiently suffered.

So, barring something like impostor syndrome, no its not no reason, the reason is that you've entered into a toxic dysfunctional work culture.
