There are paragraphs just not the indentation at the start of a new paragraph.

I recently watched a video that talked about the history of that indentation. Before movable type, paragraphs were just denoted by the pillcrow (¶). But with movable type, some room was left on a page for the pillcrow to be hand drawn. Eventually though the speed of printing got faster than the speed someone could hand draw the pillcrow, so just a blank space was left, showing an indented start of a paragraph.

It came out on my browsers as one long blob. Might be due to ad blocking, but I rarely have such issues unless the page is just infested with that crap.
