Firearms aren’t a social issue, you can’t stop people from camping in forests and using firearms as a tool for wilderness defence or folks who hunt and trap for a profession, not to mention people who live in remote locations where a Walmart is hours away opposed to minutes (I can’t confirm this for the US, but this is certainly a Canadian issue).
Target shooting is also recognized as an Olympic sport globally.
Every other country has gun laws and still competes in shooting targets. Difference is they do t run through schools murdering
Canada 2026 - Tumbler Ridge school shooting
Australia 2024 - Atlantis Beach Baptist College school shooting
Germany 2026 - Welfen-Gymnasium school shooting
France & Austria 2025 - School shootings 2 hours apart from each other
Gun control helps minimize these incidents, sure, buts is certainly not a be all end all solution. Also Canada’s Wes Steven heads to world shooting championships without a firearm due to countries regulations.
