I've been watching anime since the 80s, and I've had quite a few favorites over all that time, but I have to say, the writing and art style of Frieren has completely blown me away.

What do you think of the series?

I'm not caught up yet, having difficulty finding the newest episodes here in the US.

I want so badly to get in to it. I've tried several times and made it 5 or so episodes in, but for me it alternates between being either too slow paced or bringing about too much existential dread for me.

It is fine, sometimes we are not in the right moment of our life. I often has discarded or stopped watching/reading/playing something that hooked me right away years later.
