None of what you wrote is wrong, except you definitely ignored the good point I made, which is that saying only a negative thing without even the slightest of suggestion of a positive thing, is indeed unhelpful. You mention mental health -- yeah mine is pretty much trash, like most people's who are even a little aware of real life. I have tried therapy multiple times and have rarely felt my therapist was very good. However, all of them would agree that online time is bad for us and specifically it is due to the negativity. I'm truly suggesting less negativity so I think it's a little bit shitty for you to defend the negativity, tell me it's my fault for taking it badly, and to dismiss my wish for better messaging on the internet.

And no I haven't in any way thought or suggested that the only other option would be pretending shit's ok. I absolutely know it's not, I don't need to a new confirmation of that every 15 seconds, and then hear of something I could potentially do about it perhaps once a week. That's a shit ratio. Am I really in the wrong to expect better than this shit? Literally everybody would agree with me if this were idea were abstracted away from an issue they find particularly important to approach some specific way. Or perhaps written a little clearer... however I think the point is a good one and it's there if you want to acknowledge it.

I do discuss viable options. I didn't in this post. It is not viable to do so in every interaction. To take your very valid frustration with the status quo out on me, someone who sees and fights, is far more harmful than my glib reminder that the Democrats will not fix the way things are, only perpetuate them.

You seem to be very thirsty for real action. You can't get that here, my friend.

If you still want to hang out here, and you need viable suggestions to be mentioned for your own mental health, I would suggest that you add them any time you see a comment that you feel is "dooming". If you want the work, do the work. Hoping that people leaving 3 second comments do it, is a losing strategy. Getting angry at allies, taking your very valid frustration at your current situation out on them, hurts your cause far far more than a comment like my original one could.

I have no idea what you're even talking about. I complained that this comment is shitty: https://lemmy.world/post/50287927/25121171 (which is notably NOT you)

You blamed my reaction to it on me even though it's a pretty common and expected reaction for people to have, at least internally.

The only thing I'm taking away here is that yeah I should probably leave this platform and all online platforms. I'm not even allowed to say they should be better without getting pushback and being accused of being the real counterproductive one. If you like the status quo so much of smug condescension, negativity touted as being righteous, and zealotry presented as a virtue, then you do belong here. I'm starting to see that I just don't.

Way to embody my precise point. Won't be seeing any further replies though.

Oof, rather than recognize the issue, you escalated your accusations to "the problem" being with the entire platform. Then when you got pushback from yet another user, you deleted your comment that blames literally everyone else but yourself.

I don't know how much more obvious the problem can get. If you can't see this, you ain't seeing it today. I hope you can break through to a place of genuine action and truth. Good luck.
