Ahhh, VLC has come through again. I turned an old phone into an mp3 player and I was looking for a local music player. VLC was the first thing I came across and I thought it would do for the moment, but it's so goddamned good I might just keep using it.
The only potential issue is it may not remember your play queue after closing. But it never did that, and that's fine if you want more deliberate listening sessions
