Pardon my ignorance, but how does this work? And are these games Linux compatible?

They're DRM free downloads afaik. On Linux you would just run them with Proton by adding them to Steam/Heroic/Faugus etc I assume.

I fairly frequently try out games made for Windows, released on Itch, me running Linux.

Yeah, some are not well optimized... but these are basically alpha builds of (usually solo dev) indie games, so, yeah basically, works pretty much as well it can.

Can't say I've ever had a technical issue with anything that has hit 1.0.

Proton is magic, hooray!

The bundle is on itch.io so you download the games from that site. Most of the time you download a zip or an installer for each game.

If you check out the bundle on itch.io you can filter by platform.
