Still reading When Moon Hits the Eye by John Scalzi.

Had some vacation, so didn't get time to read much.

lol, that's so true.

I haven't read many urban fantasy, but from the ones I have read I think that's just how the genre is, it has that "monster of the week" feel.

Have you read any Kim Harrison? Her "Hollows" novels had a different feel from the Dresden books while also being solidly urban fantasy (TBF, I've only read a couple of them - might still be pretty MOTW).
