I just can't imagine anyone is going to change to chrome because ff started posting to x.
Because those are the only two bruises in existence...

Basically, yes.
There are alternative forks.
Not really. The soft forks are more like pre-packaged configurations than separate browsers. If ff dies all the forks die.
I've used LibreWolf for years now but I still consider myself to be using firefox.
