The phase of the moon determines its position in the sky in relation to the sun (well the position determines the phase).

Full moon: sun and moon completely opposite. Moon rises just as the sun sets.

Half Moon: 90° from the sun. Moon is at the horizon as the sun is at the highest point. Depending on waning or waxing moon, it will either rise or set just at noon.

Crescent moon: moon very close to sun. Will rise/set within hours of sun rise/set.

Tldr: the moon is in the sky 50% of the time. Of that time, 50% will be at day and 50% at night. 25% of your live has a daytime moon, it just isn't always visible because it is much dimer than the sun so if it is just a bit cloudy you still see the sun but not the moon anymore.

At least that's the theory at the poles (I think. Maybe at the equator) so depending on latitude it might be a bit different but the 25% should still be true.
