I applaude the sentiment, but should say "cropped out of" since "edited" sounds like they had to use the clone tool to remove him from the center of the frame and spent more than 2 seconds removing him. Here's an pic from a different angle showing Trump way off to the right side of the frame:

Update: Just watched the video and Trump clearly tries to insert himself into the shot, and would have been in frame, but is escorted out of the frame, after which the photo is taken and cropped.

Looks like he’s in his “floating over to a freshly baked pie” pose once again

I've never understood that, it's so weird. People say it's because he wears lifts and I don't doubt he does, and women wearing heels do stick out their butt but they also arch their back to keep their balance. Which lifts the boobs, another plus, but it's mostly for balance. (Source: am woman, have tested the different effects of 4" heels and 4" platforms with a 2" rise toe-to-heel)

Maybe he's trained himself to "not stand like a girl in heels" and thinks he's getting away with it? Or maybe his back is unable to arch? The belly weight is the opposite of a counterbalance so that's not it. Could his cankles be incredibly strong shin muscles? No, Michael Jackson had skinny ankles.

It's a mystery, Scoob!

From what I understand, some forms of dementia can affect the limbic system, causing a forward lean. Combine that with his lifts...

And a full diaper for ballast.

He also thinks it hides his gut but alerting his laughably long necktie to hang straight(er) down.

Lmao now this is a fuckin comment

You can try it out if you're curious. These days you can find platforms and stilettos in your size pretty easily. I don't recommend asking a friend if you can try on hers, because that's a can of worms in a minefield.

Wow lmao. I confess I did not even think to look and just assumed these gargantuan feet will never slay in drag 🤦‍♀️ Baked-in biases!

[–] Mouselemming@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 week ago

Adding a note: drag queen culture has been especially helpful in this regard, also improving style options for previously overlooked legions of women with large feet. Yet another reason to say, "thank you, drag queens!"

And yet the small feet = feminine beauty equation still festers away in the back of our social subconscious. If only Prince Charming had said, "I'm going to go out and look for a girl who has the same size feet I do, so we can share shoes and rule the kingdom together!"

Wow he really does stick out like a sore thumb for all the wrong reasons. Everyone else there has so much energy with the leaning tower of shitstack off to the right. He’s not even looking at the celebration it seems.

[–] subverted_per@lemmy.blahaj.zone 15 points 1 week ago

Thats because this whole celebration is about him. He is the celebration. Should he not bask in the glory that would not have happened but for him?

[–] ShaggySnacks@lemmy.myserv.one 9 points 1 week ago

Such a big loser energy being projected by President Lumpty Trumpty.

[–] grrgyle@slrpnk.net 3 points 1 week ago

Do you think he was like ooo big gold 😵‍💫

[–] Jarix@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Cropping is editing. You can edit a photo in many many ways including cropping

[–] bamboo@lemmy.blahaj.zone 9 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Yes but the way it's phrased with no context is (intentionally) misleading, and doesn't help describe how it was edited and to what extent. I have to assume that they used "edited" to be technically correct while maximizing clicks/engagement. One might read the sentence and think the Spain National Team had taken the time to aggressively remove Trump from the picture, as if he was in front of a player and they had to airbrush him out. That's what I thought at first but searching for an uncropped image shows that wasn't the case, and this context helped me understand what "edited" referred to, and I figured others might want the context as well.

[–] Jarix@lemmy.world -4 points 1 week ago

I don't agree there was anything misleading in this usage. I think you are reading too much into it.

I understand the difference you are describing, but I don't accept that the use of Edited was in anyway click bait, in this instance.

We are just so used to it being used that way it easy to forget to give the benefit of the doubt.

I could be wrong though, but it doesn't feel right to me to have issue with this use of language
