Correct, I suspect because we are in the age of drones. Makes me wonder why my country, Canada, still bothers with the rigmarole of procuring fighter jets.

Drone swarms are one thing, but I think the real problem is hypersonic or maneuverable missiles. Iran and Russia both have hypersonic missiles that can come in at weird terminal trajectories. Air defenses have real trouble stopping these.

And if that fails, well, there's always cluster munitions. What's $4m a pop Patriot missiles going to do when it's 20-80 bomblets falling down?

Hit the cluster vehicle before it gets there. Cluster munitions are released quite late in the trajectory.

Great plan! I can't believe Israel or the USA hasn't thought of that. You should probably email Raytheon, I think you're really on to something.
