Only thing that comes to mind is e-scooters which can be classed as 'kids toys' yet there have been a lot of deaths and serious injuries on them due to unregulated speeds and training.
You're right though, there hasn't been a good "wtf this children's toy/game is deliriously dangerous" since the 70s.
I mean, people are starting to look at social media a little crossways.
The Onewheel scooters maybe? Or the 3wheel off-road things made by Honda that just became legal again...
