Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.
If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread. (These things should be publicly discussed)
Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.
Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

I am from the UK, my wife from Germany. My daughter was born in Germany and has dual-citizenship automatically via me as her father.
She was born before Brexit and only has a German passport as it was always possible to travel via free-movement and then after Brexit without issue by using the digital visa to the UK.
The new rules now apply to her, meaning we had to get a million things exensively translated, stamped, signed and sent off to the UK and apply for an official passport in order to not get slapped with a big fine, or worse, stranded each time she travels.
For us, it was not a non-issue and is unnecessary red-tape, and I have a feeling it is only done to artificially keep some migration figures down.
Whatever. Done now. /rant
I've no disagreement with any of this. And I don't have any intention of discrediting the sentiment that the UK government implemented this too brashly and without sufficient communication (and perhaps especially a specific grace period).
However surely the writing has been on the walls for 10 years now? Why did she not get a UK passport before then? Was the blue passport so offensive? I could actually sympathise there... I already had a blue passport and I'm clinging to my red one until it expires.
Wish I had green, purple, or black. Gotta collect them all.
