If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

Compromise, he stays white and male but it has to stay in the period of the original books and the films are all in black and white.
Second compromise, he stays white and male but he dresses fabulous snap snap and he talks Jive.
The purists may grumble, but i would watch the shit out of this.
Well they say a good compromise leaves everyone a little unhappy, so I'm sensing this isn't a very good compromise because it sounds delightful
