Went into work today, grabbed all my stuff, and sent my resignation letter.
I'm am now unemployed.
Here's my take on it so far: For the new me to born, the old me has to die. Birth is a painful and terrifying experience.
Also: Went to a bluegrass festival yesterday and I'm really psyched about maybe picking up a bluegrass instrument. First stop--in addition to my guitar which, like, why bother there's already enough guitar players in the world and they play steel string and I play nylon--is the SAW which sounds awesome and otherworldly, but probably has the same learning curve of the violin. Easier get: the dobro, which I think it just a regular guitar with jacked up action that you exclusively play slide on. I don't have a proper dobro with resonator, but pretty much any of my unusued steel string guitars can double. Plus, I've always wanted to play slide guitar. I REALLY want to do an open tuning slide of Time, by Tom Waits but perfected by Tori Amos.
Please accept a high five.
