Eh, yeah cars are worse, sure. I cycle everyday, on an e-bike, so ~~I want everyone else taken off the street - especially other cycl-~~ I'll see at least one massive, overpowered, e-bike speeding down the mixed pedestrian/cycle path everyday (yesterday one was being followed by a straight up motorcycle, and now that I think about it I'm curious what happened when they went through the tunnel that had twenty kids being taught how to ride a bike, which is a terrible place to teach them but I think they were escaping the heat...).
That said, while it's a bit scary being anywhere near them when they're bombing around... I haven't really seen them try and show off how well they can weave through foot traffic like a few close calls I've seen from Tour de France wannabes. And they haven't actually tried to show off how they could kill me if they wanted like quite a few cars have done to me.
