Wow! Are there just parts of the US where everybody paints different political messages on their sheds and stuff?
There's crazy neighbors everywhere.
If you own the house you can do whatever you want.
If you're renting, the landlord (or HOA) won't let you.
My mom got a letter from the HOA saying someone saw the hood of her car up. I was checking her motor oil level.
I'm asking more about how common it is, and not how possible it is.
HOAs sound insane though.
It is getting less common to own a home.
Also I'm retired so I don't have a job/income to endanger. I don't have a wife or children in school so no local social pressures. I consider myself unique to be able to do stuff like this.
At Christmas last year I wanted to do a nativity scene with ICE agents holding Mary and Joseph at gunpoint while a third agent zip-tied the baby Jesus. "He's not from around here."
I was too busy with other things. THAT would have been fun. I'm all about having fun.
