The article made me feel schadenfreude and a sense of retribution. I don't think it aligns with the spirit of this community. I'd be okay with seeing it elsewhere.
I also don't agree that political views are so entrenched in people and that such extreme options are all that's left. But I get the frustration this is stemming from.
Schadenfreude is joy derived from the misfortune of others - while you may be experiencing that with OP's article (hard not to when bad things happen to bad people), that isn't the part that makes it uplifting.
It signals the possibility of a shift away from the hatred and bigotry that drives their political values. It's not the optimal route of getting us there, but again, everything else has failed.
