How can he be a business owner AND a politician? That's a clear conflict of interest.
Because voters trust him.

The real question is why do they trust him?
they don't - it's not about trust, it's just spitefully gravitating to whatever "makes liberal heads explode".
They probably trust him because their livelihoods are tied to coal, the same as him. He probably makes bold statements about keeping coal flowing and jobs going.
