1. The "good" part of our community means we are pro-empathy and anti-harassment. However, we don't intend to make this a "safe space" where everyone has to be a saint. Sh*t happens, and life is messy. That's why we get things off our chests.

2. Bigotry is not allowed. That includes racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, and religiophobia. (If you want to vent about religion, that's fine; but religion is not inherently evil.)

3. Frustrated, venting, or angry posts are still welcome.

4. Posts and comments that bait, threaten, or incite harassment are not allowed.

5. If anyone offers mental, medical, or professional advice here, please remember to take it with a grain of salt. Seek out real professionals if needed.

6. Please put NSFW behind NSFW tags.

I like Zohran Mamdani. I like Alexandria Ocasio Cortez.

But if you think they have any chance to win a presidential election against Eric Trump or JD Vance, you are kidding yourself.

People living in Nevada, Texas, Michigan or Wisconsin are never going to vote for a muslim socialist or a latina.

Many americans get their news from Fox News or X.

They believe California/New York/Boston/Seattle/Chicago are disgusting shitholes full of crime, murder and pink-haired weirdos.

The next candidate should be :

- MALE

- WHITE

- Not from the West Coast or East Coast

- MILITARY VETERAN

I'm not talking about the ideas. I'm talking about the appearance. Please don't think a muslim New Yorker or a latina stand a real chance against JD Vance.

They would be ANNIHILATED by Musk and Fox News before the presidential campaign even starts.

If Kamala was a white male prosecutor and Trump was a female black felon, I'm pretty sure Trump would have lost.

Many american progressives don't know their own country.

I literally just read an article here an hour ago about how LLM bots are starting to get through signup protocols on Lemmy and mods are becoming overburdened. They even mentioned a brigade of Russian bots that have been shit stirring and spreading propaganda.

I would not be surprised if you are close to the truth here. Especially because this is supposed to be a good off my chest comm lol

This problem is not only spam in the ‘click-here-for-free-dogecoin’ sense, IFTAS reports that the fediverse has been targeted by the Russian botnet Portal Kombat for misinformation and propaganda.
