❗️Statement by Iran's Foreign Ministry:
Expand
The US regime, in the early hours of Wednesday, 10 June 2026, under the pretext of the crash of an Apache helicopter belonging to its terrorist army over the Strait of Hormuz on Monday night, carried out savage attacks against areas in the south of the country. These attacks constitute a blatant violation of the UN Charter, particularly Article 2(4), and the fundamental principle prohibiting the use of force in international relations. Through these aggressive actions, the US ruling establishment has once again demonstrated its criminal and warmongering nature. In response to the US military aggression against Iran and the clear violation of our country's national sovereignty and territorial integrity, the powerful Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in exercising their inherent right of legitimate self-defense, dealt severe blows to US bases and assets in the region that served as the origin of these acts of aggression.
While strongly condemning the US crime of military aggression against Iran, the Foreign Ministry once again recalls the legal and moral responsibility of all countries in the region, especially those located on the southern shores of the Persian Gulf, to prevent the terrorist US army and the Zionist regime from using their territory and facilities to plan, organize, execute, and support acts of aggression against Iran. It warns that the Islamic Republic of Iran will not hesitate to exercise its inherent right of self-defense, including by targeting the source of attacks as well as the bases and logistical facilities used to carry out and support aggressive operations against Iran.
The Foreign Ministry of the Islamic Republic of Iran also once again reminds the United Nations, particularly its Security Council and Secretary-General, of their responsibility to safeguard international peace and security and hold the aggressors accountable.
