But we will take everything under advisement. Also like always if you are good at some spot of history or science history or something. We will take all comers to be mods with respect and will read (from now on) more closely your post and comment history and your interaction within the community

Really the only thing a mod should do is step in to enforce the rules as agreed by the community (and they should always be subject to change).

100%. Provided said change is also subjected to a due (and not too fast) process. Rules must be reliable, meaning they should not change on a whim or following the latest trend.

Edit: conversely, bad mods feel like they own a community or are above other members.

I consider a mod not as the owner but as the janitor of a community. They work for the good of the community and its members, not as some wannabe king/imperator/tyrant/god. Not even as a role model, I would be tempted to add, save for his ability to follow the rules, obviously ;)

Even though I've been away for too many months now, at least that is how I present myself as a mod in the community I moderate. I even created a different account for my moderating tasks, to make it perfectly clear there is a difference between I, a user contributing content like any other, and I the moderator applying the rules ;)

And you turned down our mod request lol...no hard feeling and much love. My thing is if I go back thru all the posts I have made and I think it is a lot that I delete comments, then it's a massive shit storm I get to the next day

Not sure to understand your remark, but why would there be any hard feeling? I mean, I told you my reasoning for turning down your offer. At least for me, there is no reason to feel sad/angry or anything regarding that: I just can't do it ;)
