I no longer trust Google

For recent years, I used to believe that paying a premium for a flagship would guarantee years of strong software and AI support. That belief has been shattered.

Hasn't Google done this forever? When I was on a Pixel 4 Pro (or whatever it was called), I seem to recall a bunch of fancy new Pixel 5 and 6 features that were never back-ported. I think that included Call Screen, but it was a while ago.

If these features were expected to provide a tonne of advantage to Google, they'd be back-ported, as we see with the Pixel Watch. I'm guessing that these aren't seen as key differentiators, so Google is tossing them at the wall with minimal effort to see what sticks.
