What more can be done to better improve my ThinkPad T420? (lemmy.ml)

I picked it up at Value Village a few months back and only just now got around to playing with it. The only thing that is wrong with it is someone broke off the HDD cover and it's lacking the actual HDD sled.

The drive caddy and covers are still available. I would put an SSD in there and max out the RAM if it's not already.

Some people also like to upgrade the wifi card I believe

WiFi is a bit trickier to upgrade on the older Thinkpads. A lot of them will not boot unless the card is whitelisted in the bios. If that's the case, then you will have to flash a modified bios.

Oh, right! I have flashing the bios on my w520 as a pending project, and had forgotten how deep in the rabbit hole some upgrades and mods are.
