“I’ve spent my time helping this company extract data from everyone else why are they coming for mine?”

It’s so exhausting how stupid people are.

Not stupid. Just self-centered.

Also maybe a little stupid.

Yeah, no sympathy

Right? I’m laughing how they expect me to sympathize with them.

Because they’re working class like you and me?

Like ICE? Working class too I guess?

Are you seriously comparing software engineers to members of a state sponsored terrorist police?

[–] Valmond@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 1 week ago

I just tried to shake you up about immoral work.

I get your (implied) point about preventing infighting between members of the working class, but technically they are both part of the working class and they both contribute to state sponsored surveillance and cooperate with the ruling class when dissidents and innocent citizens (all over the world) needs to be tracked down.

However, Meta has not yet been directly involved in murdering people but they sure have blood on their hands - as do every social media platform that partakes in surveillance capitalism and cooperates with nation states.

“But the data extraction factory I work at wasn’t supposed to extract my data!”
