What is Social Democracy?

There are a number of variants, but we can provisionally define it as a political ideology which prescribes the use of democratic collective action to extend the principles of freedom and equality valued by democrats in the political sphere to the organization of the economy and society, chiefly by opposing the inequality and oppression created by laissez-faire capitalism.

I am curious. If NY truly did make this impressive turn-around, why aren't all other cities lining up for a "how to Mamdani your city"? Probably the man himself is not interested or capable of "marketing" his success but surely the rest of the country's management (in saner times, I'd even include the government) should be absolutely screaming for this?

If democracy was the will of the majority, it would be surprising that everyone isn't clamoring to implement the same strategies, however cui bono; who profits? The source of every dismissal and complaint and backlash are the profiteering wealthy that see socialist policies as taking away their unearned lordship status. They fear this deeply and that's why they are so, so vocal and blanketing in the messaging.

You can prove the propoganda machine works by asking any maga if they'd support the funding for teachers, the funding for childcare, etc without naming Mamdani, Democrats, or socialism. They all (mostly, some are genuinely fucking evil) see the human benefit of policies like these, they're just indoctrinated against the left to the point of blindness and self-sabotage.

This concludes my armchair political assessment of US psychology
