I just don't get why this is a huge news, I am from Kerala. Usually the elected government in kerala switches between the left and right (not BJP, I mean the congress which is like centre) every 5 year, this past decade was unique because it was the first time any party managed to stay in power for more than 5 years and the LDF (Left Democratic friend, a left wing coalition) was in power for 10 years straight and the UDF managed to unseat them.. I guess this is why it's a news, still don't see why it should be on world news. Anyway nothing really changes in Kerala, we have governments alternating and we still preserve our nature. So if you still want to visit Kerala, it's still not a bad time and I have faith in my fellow keraliltes that BJP will never be in power in Kerala.

It is news because Kerala was the last leftist state government in India. That every state government is now center or right likely has major implications for the next national elections.

That's good to hear. I wasn't familiar with the political history of Kerala. It has been the way it currently is for as long as I've been aware of it. Hopefully I get to visit India soonish, next 5 years ideally. There's so much cultural history I want to see.
