A quiet, fast-growing Central Florida neighborhood is dealing with a bizarre and unsettling situation. In Horizon West, neighbors say a homeowner has been spray painting messages across the outside of their own house — leaving many in the community concerned and confused.
Residents tell News 6 they’ve contacted their HOA, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, and code enforcement multiple times, worried the situation could escalate. Deputies say they conducted a well-being check but got no response, and now a behavioral response unit may follow up to offer support and resources.
While it may be legal to paint your own home, HOA rules could complicate things — and neighbors say the impact on safety and property values is real. Many now just want answers — and for the person inside the home to get the help they may need.
