I know it isn’t gonna happen, but I just keep hoping this is a giant ruse and he isn’t actually going to be Doom. It just seems like such terrible casting.

He's a very good actor and I have no doubt he can pull it off.
My worry, is that at some point they'll show us his face. Maybe for even the majority of his screen time. That would be a big mistake. It's a big source of the problems for Stalone's Judge Dredd, and a big part of what's great about Urban's DREDD.

I don’t doubt his ability, I just worry it’s going to be more of a mirror Tony Stark than Doom. And as you said, I expect they’ll show his face too much, which will be off putting both from him playing Stark and from the standpoint of Doom doesn’t ever show his face.

I agree doom shouldn’t take his mask off. But I have a feeling if they do take it off, it’s because doom in the MCU, is an alternate universe Tony stark. Which is also stupid.
