Piefed does have inbuilt tools that throttle bloc downvoters, but most of the downvoters accounts you refer to are from Lemmy in this case. So it would not impact them, although after a certain threshold - piefed-based users would no longer receive these downvotes.

I don't know what you mean though by posts being automatically hidden by downvotes on piefed. I have never noticed this.
