Hello, fairly new to lemmy and a enjoyer of FOSS here. I just wanted to ask if anyone of yall could teach me some stuff about guns, what are some good resources to learn, like how to use them and stuff, where i am we have very strict gun laws and i dont know if i can get a gun for a while. But i would like to learn. So please, teach me, give me resources and tell me what i need to know, thanks.

Nothing will ever replace hands on training in a class or instructor. I'm even wary of friends with guns teaching anything because I have seen some dumb shit on the range from "experienced" owners.

1st is find out why you want to shoot. Fun? Self-defence? Competition? Etc.
2nd is find out what you want to shoot. Skeet? Target? Pistol? Rifle? Etc.
3rd, take your class/training based on that and get recommendations on your first purchase, if possible rent or try out what you think you'd like before buying.
4th practice again and again.
