It blows my mind that a company whose primary purpose was a materials supplier to other manufacturers invested so heavily in PR the way Alcoa did. GE did too, but they sold appliances so that made sense. Alcoa made Reynolds Wrap, which already had its own series of ads, and that was about it.

Alcoa even aired commercials during prime time. Had a jingle and everything which I still remember…
