Just an FYI: From looking at their most recent financial statement. They received $824K in city and provincial grants and paid out $465K in salaries. Not the percentage I would expect from most charities.

What percentage would you expect from most charities?

Depends on the charity. I would certainly expect less than 50%. Aren't you just a little curious what kind of salaries they are paying out?

It's way above what's considered normal.

The document that you referenced includes an independent audit that said their finances are in accordance with Canadian standards for non-profits.

Hell, the payroll you're referring to would cover the wages of about eleven people earning a median full-time income. Nothing about this seems outrageous to me.

I have served on multiple non profit boards. That independent audit statement is meaningless. The auditing firm receives the numbers from the non profit, and accepts them without any verification.

I would like to know the qualifications of the people who are managing the properties. From the financials, pretty much 100% of their money is taxpayer money, so I think the public has a right to know. Wouldn't you like to know how (or how well) the money is being spent?
