You know, the same way one might forget to eat food. I keep a bottle of migraine zappers for this exact occasion when I wake up in the middle of the night with my head exploding and I'm like "oh. right. I'm dependant on a substance. nice fumble, dweeb"

I've been drinking coffee everyday since I was at least 12. I'll get a headache in the afternoon if I don't have it in the morning.

Except that I once went a week unknowingly drinking decaf coffee and didn't experience withdrawal, so maybe there's something psychological at play?

could be. another commenter said they don't get withdrawals. but I've noticed this is the only substance I've developed a habit of so it must be real somehow.
