Jokes on you, I've heard something along the lines from soviet era officers multiple times.
Last one was: we need analog FPV bomber escorts armed with sawed off shotguns as an escort for the Vampire heavy bomber, they'll shoot enemy kamikaze drones while Vampire makes logistics delivery.
My mental response was: "what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard"
Good thing that officers can be somewhat stopped by sergeant corps it really would've been 3 day war if not.
