The idea behind capitalism is to use the greed of the people as the driving force behind the economy. What is the result of this? Greedy people are being rewarded, and therefore bad people get more power.

Who could have known that this is not the best idea? I mean, it works somewhat well as long as the corporations are held in check by laws and oversight. Too bad that the lawmakers who should do this are largely bought off...
