This is typically a question asked by bigots of one flavor or another so it's hard to answer the question unless you give a concrete example of something you may like to say that you're afraid would be censored.

I get banned from posting all the time for cussing. That type of language is not allowed error show up on the bottom of my screen. What am I missing here?

On Lemmy? Everyone curses, in fact if you censor a f*cking cuss word there will be ten people who state, "You can say fuck on the Internet buddy."

I would love to see a screenshot of that error message, if you are able to capture it for us. I have never seen a warning like that, which sounds concerning.
