It's really interesting to see some take that tack, especially as I was introduced to the idea of harm reduction by looking into anarchist communities at a period when I was spiraling into despair over the many setbacks of American electoralism.
"It won't fix anything, but ten minutes every year or so to make sure we're fighting a similar beast, and not a much more gruesome one, is worth the time" was immensely intuitive to me. Not every election involves the possibility of significant harm reduction, but when the choices are gruesomely opposed, you take the lesser evil to prevent fascism from being handed over all the levers of power in an instant.
I struggle to think of any position that it doesn't apply to save accelerationism or some kind of deontological solipsism. And accelerationism... does not have a great track record of actually accelerating revolution.
