For the sake of optics, the Lemmy developers should make an effort to disassociate .ml from Lemmy itself. Still, the average Reddit user is frustratingly more willing to put up with the platform's enshittification than learn how to manage blocks on the Fediverse to tailor their feed to their liking.
I joined a couple of months ago and still have no idea how it all really works.
And it's really not so important that I understand the minutia. People stumble around the internet all the time, making happy little discoveries and finding new communities. It's kind of the way things used to work - we didn't ask, we were just happily amused.
ZOMBO.COM
That's the spirit!
Everything is possible
It would be nice if people pointed to specific lemmy servers instead of "Lemmy".
Posting Threadiverse URLs gets posts automatically shadowbanned on Reddit, unfortunately; people should go into more detail when recommending Lemmy or Piefed though. People jump in expecting a 1:1 Reddit experience, and end up getting confused by federation and giving up.
No, it's good. Keeps most of the nazis and Wndws users out.
Reddit users may be misguided, but most of them aren't Nazis.
Also, while it's good to help users in switching to Linux when requested, users shouldn't feel unwelcome here simply for using Windows.
Uhh, have you seen the place? To be fair, many of the extreme ones could be bots.
Users who are forced to use Windows for work, compatibility, etc. have my sympathy. Surely the PNGVN is most merciful. But those who willingly reject the Beaked One and persist in their ignorant ways are beyond saving.
Yes? Reddit, mostly, is way to the left of Twitter. It's less "left" to be fair but heavily liberal but it really isn't a right-wing pool. Some subreddits might be.
This is silly.
