1. Follow the site-wide rules
- Instance-wide TOS: https://legal.lemmy.world/tos/
- Lemmy code of conduct: https://join-lemmy.org/docs/code_of_conduct.html
2. Be civil
- Understand the difference between a joke and an insult.
- Do not harrass or attack users for any reason. This includes using blanket terms, like "every user of thing".
- Don't get baited into back-and-forth insults. We are not animals.
- Leave remarks of "peasantry" to the PCMR community. If you dislike an OS/service/application, attack the thing you dislike, not the individuals who use it. Some people may not have a choice.
- Bigotry will not be tolerated.
3. Post Linux-related content
- Including Unix and BSD.
- Non-Linux content is acceptable as long as it makes a reference to Linux. For example, the poorly made mockery of
sudoin Windows. - No porn, no politics, no trolling or ragebaiting.
- Don't come looking for advice, this is not the right community.
4. No recent reposts
- Everybody uses Arch btw, can't quit Vim, <loves/tolerates/hates> systemd, and wants to interject for a moment. You can stop now.

- Comments written in other languages are allowed.
- The substance of a post should be comprehensible for people who only speak English.
- Titles and post bodies written in other languages will be allowed, but only as long as the above rule is observed.
6. (NEW!) Regarding public figures
We all have our opinions, and certain public figures can be divisive. Keep in mind that this is a community for memes and light-hearted fun, not for airing grievances or leveling accusations. - Keep discussions polite and free of disparagement.

Please report posts and comments that break these rules!
Important: never execute code or follow advice that you don't understand or can't verify, especially here. The word of the day is credibility. This is a meme community -- even the most helpful comments might just be shitposts that can damage your system. Be aware, be smart, don't remove France.

Will definitely have that. Its eastern and I Am taking part in my local tradition called Easter fire (German) which basically translates to drinking beer for 3 days and ignoring all regulations for road safety in order to make a big fucking fire.
A demonstration on how much we dont care about regulations for road safety (those pictures were taken before that trailer was completely full):
OMG so fun! I guess it's nice and moist in Germany. Here in Southern California our big fucking fires are more spontaneous and not fun.
It is absolutely fun. The longer you think about it, the stupider it gets ("So we drive through the village drinking beer and listening to a lot of antisocial music, collecting a whole lot of wood", "why?", "to make a big fucking fire. Idk why we do it, but its kinda funny"), but its a 10/10 experience.
We basically ignore almost all regulations that exist to prevent people from killing themselves (the only people that are "sober" are the ones driving), but its very fun when you take part in it.
Wikipedia indicates it predates Christianity in the area, but without details. Like, probably something about getting rid of darkness and any evil spirits in the fields as the growing season gets going, but so co-opted by the priesthood that it becomes an Easter Tradition. I can sorta see why though, Ain't nobody gonna pray to your Jesus if it means losing Drunk Fire Party.
Yeah, it was something about getting rid if evil spirits, but I dont know anything else. At this point this whole event also has nothing to do with Christianity at all (i opened my first beer on 7:30 Am literally in front of the church on Friday). We just got a complaint this year, if we really have to drive around all day making noise on a Christian holiday. They primarily complained about the noise on easterfriday, since officially you are not even allowed to dance (I'm not joking, it really is forbidden by law, but literally no one gives a shit about it). The only thing it changed us, that we changed the exhaust (from the tractor that we were driving around with) from the stainless-steel exhaust (which makes unholy amounts of noise) back to the original exhaust and that we did not drive through their street on Friday. However on Saturday, the stainless-steel exhaust was back, we had an even bigger music box and then had a stop almost directly in front of their house.
