I have been absolutely TERRIFIED of wasps for nearly my whole life. They are so aggressive and now whenever I hear something that sounds like a deep buzzing sound I get paranoid thinking a wasp is in my house. They will just sting you for purely existing and they are always constantly attacking the first human they see. And their stinger doesn't fall off like bees do, so they can just keep repeatedly stinging you over and over as they have nothing to lose. Not only that, but they also suck at pollination. It takes them an eternity to pollinate just one flower because they don't have that special stuff on their bodies like bees do. And they're just plain assholes. Their first instinct whenever they see a human is to fly up to them and sting them. I have gotten jumpscared constantly by wasps flying close to my face at supersonic speed and I instantly have to go into retreat mode for like 20 minutes. And they always get back up in my face whenever I let my guard down and I have to run to a different room of the house just so I don't get stung. And no matter what you do when going outside, if a wasp is nearby, it's going to attempt to sting you no matter what the case is. Going to go check your mail? Get stung. Doing chores? No siree. Getting ready to go somewhere like the grocery store? Not so fast. It's like they just decide to attack you the very moment you step outside. And I got stung by a wasp when I was a kid, and I have been avoiding wasps like the plague ever since. If I see a wasp outside, I instantly go back inside. If I see a wasp inside of my home, I instantly go to another room of the house. If I hear what sounds like a wasp's buzzing sound, I retreat as soon as possible, even if it's not actually a wasp. The fact I have to retreat as soon as I hear what sounds like a wasp just goes to show you how truly scared and terrified I am of these absolute vile creatures. And the worst part is that we have so many freaking types of species of wasps, as if one species wasn't enough. We have so many types of wasps, which include hornets. And hornets fly faster than wasps. I am screwed if a hornet chases me. And the worst part is that hornets kill honeybees, and we need honeybees. Honeybees are actually an endangered species, and hornets can wipe out entire colonies of honeybees in a matter of minutes. We need honeybees, we do not need killer hornets, for Christ's sake; they do not do or contribute anything to society. And the most notable part is that wasps ruin Summer, what is supposed to be the best time of the year. I have taken a massive liking to the Winter season BECAUSE of wasps. All types of insects go to the poop dimension when Winter hits. I can go outside without mosquitoes biting me, flies entering my home to be a nuisance, and especially wasps, which make me afraid of even existing outdoors. And I hate that there are some kinds of people out there that actually try to praise wasps online like there are actually some kind of 'benefits' for wasps purely existing. No, there are no benefits. At all. I hate wasps so much. And I mean it. I honestly wish that I could work with scientists to develop some new kind of poison or toxin of some sort that SPECIFICALLY kills wasps. I am tired being scared of even existing in my own freaking home. These things can go to hell for all I care.

I've had a few infestations at different homes. you can invest in a spray for their nest. make sure to take out any nests before they get bigger. there are plants and other sprays you can use to repel them. some people have had success with a fake nest to keep them away.

as to their benefits, they do a great job at killing other bugs like mosquitoes and roaches, as well as being pollinators (which attracts birds as their natural predators). i agree they are awful and hope you can deal with your infestation
