Apple has to have the a record of the email address the alias points too. And if you have given your identity to Apple, I don’t see what else they can do but turn it over to the cops if they have a warrant.
Someone enlighten me if I’m wrong but I don’t see how the could obscure this data without making the system non-functional and I don’t think they could legally not collect this data and be in compliance with KYC laws
Some people thought that this feature that lets you to sign up with a throwaway email address redirected to your main account was somehow some kind of encrypted communication. I suspect this is news because Apple complied with government request while orange man is in power.
