A whole kit of all the working parts in the tank can be hand from the hardware store for about $15. Depending on how long this has been happening, you've likely spent that much money already in water bills many times over.
Its all simple parts to replace and may only take a screwdriver (for some prying) and a pair of pliers to complete the work. Watch a youtube video and you'll be set.
