And my Podcatcher knows what amount of time these chores take. It's a lot. Could also be the Terminator, Short Circuit...

In the end, people with capital can access expensive new robotics tech first. So there's a good chance they'll use it for their various motivations. Like war or, make more profit in new (maybe unethical) ways.
