I always heard the joke when I was a kid when Russians revolt it means they are out of vodka. Is this true? There are a couple revolutions that happen just after a major famine? (lemmy.world)

Its a bit tongue in cheek but that's generally how most revolutions get started, when the population begins losing access to essentials it needs. In Russia, vodka is a big part of it.
