I love the Fediverse. I love Peertube. Our strength is we're decentralized. Our weakness is we're decentralized. How do we find like instances and things WITHOUT an algorithm?

Well I run tubefree.org. I know Makertube.net is a good instance. I follow that instance. However, I trust the admins there, why not follow who they follow? Thus we have a chain of trust.

How do I do this easily though? I came up with a script: https://git.btfree.org/BTFree/PTIndex

A personal opinion. How do we normal purchase our goods, or go see a movie, or listen to a song? PEOPLE. We have community to help give us suggestions. We outsource our opinions to a community of like minded individuals right? And I'll get it wrong, or it won't be for you, but the script is out there. Start building your own!

Didn't mean the first part as something negative. Being usually the one that in my social circles that knows the nicher stuff, algorithms help me a bunch to find new things as asking around can be a quest.

And for clarity, to me the algorithms would be a type of middleman, whose job is to better distribute the nicher stuff, and thus why I interpreted your script as one (sorry if I got it wrong though).

But also, if I'm misinterpreting, feel free to ignore the weight idea if it leads the script to the wrong direction, as the idea is based on my definition of algorithm from above.
